• Inhale Steam
Nothing can be better than steam inhalation for a faster recovery of the common cold. To get quick relief from a sore throat and running nose, opt for steam inhalation remedy. Heat water in a pan. Pour the water carefully into a large bowl. Hold your face over the bowl, breathe in the steam with the help of towel for 8-10 minutes. Clear mucus by blowing off your nose. Do the steam inhalation procedure 3 times daily.
• Use Saline Water
Saline water is an effective remedy that clears away the built-up mucus from the nostrils and in result helps you to breathe easily and comfortably. Take warm water and add salt. Put few drops the solution in your nostrils. Tilt your head so that the solution remains there. Blow your nose. Repeat the process three times a day.
• Apple Cider vinegar

Add one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar along with 1 tablespoon of salt in warm water. Gargle the solution several times a day to cut down common cold. You may drink one glass of warm water by adding one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar and honey.
• Ginger
Ginger, the most used ingredient in the kitchen has antiviral properties that cure a common cold. Drinking a cup of ginger tea lessens the mucus which is produced in your nostrils. Prepare a tea by boiling water and adding some ginger cloves into it. Strain the liquid, add honey and drink it 3-4 times a day to kill the cold-causing virus.
• Cinnamon
Cinnamon also helps in getting rid of the symptoms of common cold due to its anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties. Boil one cup of water and add 1 tablespoon of cinnamon powder into it. Allow the water to simmer on low heat for around 7-8 minutes. Strain the liquid and take one tablespoon as a syrup for 2-3 times a day. Alternatively, gargle with warm water that has cinnamon powder and black pepper.
• Turmeric
Because of having an excellent antimicrobial agent, turmeric is a natural herb that aids speedy recovery from a summer cold. Prepare a liquid with a teaspoon of turmeric, 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper and one glass of warm water. Drink the mixture two times a day until you get well soon.
• Vitamin C
Include the intake of vitamin C in your diet as it provides anti-oxidants that can be effective in treating the common cold. Have oranges, lemon, grapefruit, papaya, and strawberries.
