Saubhagya Vati bhava- this is the post-wedding ritual where seven married women are invited to bless the newlywed couple. While blessing the bride, these seven women utter the three words- ‘Saubhagya Vati bhava’ to the bride which means may your married glory remain forever.
Chero Pakaryo–This is a fun filled ritual happen in Gujarati weddings where the groom tugs at the saree of his mother-in-law as a way of asking the bride’s family for gifts.
Ashirwad– In this ritual all the elders of both the sides give heavenly blessings to the couple for their upcoming life.
Vidaai- Alike other Indian wedding ceremonies, Vidaai ceremony takes place here as well. This is known as the departure ceremony of a bride and groom. Where the bride says goodbye to her family members with teary eyes.
In this ceremony, the bride takes rice in her hands and throws it back without looking and her mother is supposed to catch this rice in her pallu as a token of love and wealth.
Gharni Laxmi- In this ceremony, the bride enters the groom’s house by gently looking kicking a small handi and pot of rice with her right foot. The groom’s mother performs aarti to welcome her inside.
Aeki Beki- This is the post-wedding ceremony of Gujaratis wedding. Aeki-Beki ceremony is considered as the most fun-filled ceremony after the frenetic wedding rituals. A bowl is filled with milk and a ring is dropped into it. Both the bride and groom then have to find the ring, and whosoever wins, gets a reward.
Gujarati wedding reception- This is the final and grand ritual of wedding ceremonies. The function is hosted by groom’s family. The guests at the party include the near and dear ones of the groom’s family.
