The Best Time To Exercise: Morning Or Evening?

Spread the love

It’s an age-old saga for fitness freaks- what is the best time to exercise? Should one go for exercising in the morning or evening? This question has no specific answers as it’s work pressure, office hours, household chores and so on that dictate when and how we should exercise. Exercise or burning calories during late has truly made me feel good, as evening and night are now encouraging. Hence, I do not have to envy all those morning fitness freaks.

After studying from so many websites, I have found that I am not all alone who prefer evening time for exercising. Research has shown to just get it done in stressing evenings when you don’t have time in mornings. It is good to exercise at any time of the day instead of completely ignoring it from your routine life.

Body temperature

It is said that “Lower body temperature makes you feel sleepy while higher temperature makes you more active as a person… A morning person’s body temp is highest in the afternoon, and a night person’s peaks in the evening,” as mentioned by a leading fitness website.

Exercise when you feel so

When it comes to lose weight, the key to achieve a goal is to exercise whenever you have enough spare time. It’s not always compulsory to say you should exercise at a certain time. Workout is beneficial regardless of the hands of the clock. That’s really what it boils down to. Hence, whenever you get confused about the ideal time to exercise whether early morning or late evening, the most important thing is to keep in mind is that you can do it whenever wherever you feel to do it. You can also opt for swimming and cycling too as it also provides some health benefits to the body.

You burn more Calories

Everything has its own benefits and way to do it. And doing exercise in right posture is equally important. Hence, whether it’s morning exercise or evening if you do it in a proper way, you burn more calories. Doing workout helps you to burn more fats. This also makes you be active the day around which further helps you in your fitness efforts. Choose the time you find suitable to take care of your health regardless of what time of day it is.

Excess of Calories burns

Morning exercise also has some benefits and the biggest benefit is more calorie loss. This term is commonly known as Excess Post-Exercise Oxygen Consumption, EPEOC, That is after your exercise you will inhale more oxygen for at least three to four hours than no exercise. Resulting, the excess of oxygen help you to keep your metabolism raised the whole day and you burn more calories, that helps you a lot in your activeness around the day and also aid in your fitness.

Does not disturb your sleep

Exercise at evening does not disturb your sleep but when you choose to exercise in morning, it disturbs your sleep due to which you feel irritated whole day because you didn’t get enough sleep in night. Moreover, the exercising during morning will worsen your condition in adding to improper sleep.

Another leading website of US, stated that late afternoon is best for exercise as research shows that the optimal time to exercise is when our body temperature is at its highest, which, for most people is 4 p.m. to 5p.m. . Yet it also said that morning exercises are more consistent and even though afternoon exercises might be optimal from a physiological standpoint. Research also shows that morning exercisers are more likely to stick to it than late-day athletes.

At the end, I am sharing quote by Steven Aldana who quoted, “Most of all, find a time that helps you make your exercise a regular, consistent part of your life”. Hence stay fit, do exercise, eat healthier, be patient. It’s your body which set some fitness goal and work hard to achieve it.

The best time to go is what suits you best. All the above given statements might scientifically help but if you feel better in evening then you’ll probably get more out of it then dragging yourself there reluctantly in the morning.
