Alaknanda
Alaknanda river flows in Garhwal region of Uttarakhand and one of the tributaries of the Ganga. The other tributary is Bhagirathi. Nanda Devi temple and Badrinath which is considered as holy pilgrimages for Hindus located near the Alaknanda river. Due to its high rafting grade, it is among the one rivers best for rafting. It passes through districts named Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Pauri Garhwal and ends at Dev Prayag.
Bhagirathi
Bhagirathi or commonly known as The river Ganga is one of the most sacred rivers of India. This river originates from Gaumukh or known as Gangotri glacier in the Northern slope of Trishul peak. Dhauliganga
Dhauliganga river is a tributary of River Kali flows in the Chamoli district in the state of Uttarakhand. meeting the Alaknanda river at Vishnuprayag, the 81km long Dhauliganga is one of the six source streams of Ganga. The construction of the hydroelectric power plant is the main feature where Kali river meets up into Dhauliganga.
Mandakini
Mandakini river is a tributary of Alaknanda river. it emerges from Chorabari Glacier in Garhwal region of Uttarakhand. At Rudraprayag, it meets Alaknanda river. Making its way through Dev Prayag, Alaknanda then form Holy Ganga river when joins with Bhagirathi River.
Ganga
Ganga river referred as “Mother Gange” is the largest river of Uttarakhand. The source of Ganga River is Gangotri Glacier, Satopanth Glacier, Khatling Glacier and has a length of 2,525km. Many Hindu pilgrims come here to wash away their sins in the water of this river is considered as pure. according to a legend, Ganga came into origin when Lord Brahma washed the Feet of Lord Vishnu.
Yamuna
River Yamuna or Jamuna is the major river of Northern India.River Yamuna originates from the Yamunotri glacier or hence called as Yamunotri Dham or one of the Uttarakhand Char Dham.The confluence of Yamuna and Ganga rivers known as Triveni Sangam is an especially sacred place to Hindus.
